truePERMIT™ incorporates sophisticated GIS data and selection tools into the e-Permitting process. It includes rigorous security features and an e-Commerce module to allow for payments online. Therefore, it allows applicants to go through the complete permit application process. They can do this from any standard, Internet-connected web browser.

truePERMIT™taps into the GIS map data warehouse of the land use authority to provide real-time map data right to the permit applicant’s web browser. Users can search, zoom, pan and perform other functions to locate their area of interest. They can make a map selection in three ways:

by uploading geo-spatial map data

by making a grid or dynamic selection web map online

by typing in geo-coordinates information

The users’ selection is automatically validated against existing titles or other land use, so they know immediately if selections are available. This validation feature alone saves time because overlaps are identified immediately and no conflicts are mistakenly processed.

Once the map selection is made, the applicant fills out the Internet forms online. truePERMIT™ uses the latest secure Internet form processing software to ensure the data entered remains secure. Further security is achieved with digital signature technology allowing an applicant to authenticate documents legally without having to physically sign them.

truePERMIT™ incorporates a permitting authority’s existing forms, rules, regulations and policies. It integrates standard computer formats such as ESRI, GML, e-mail, web browsers, electronic document routing, Java and XML, as well as an archival system for all documents.

Once an Internet form has been submitted, approval comes back immediately. The system ensures there are no conflicts with the area selected and validates the Internet form data entries. When approval is received, the final step is for the applicant to pay the fees associated with the permit. truePERMIT™ incorporates e-Commerce modules to achieve this.
