Administered by the B.C. Public Service Agency, the Premier’ s Award for Service Excellence recognizes outstanding performance in the delivery of services to the public, based on the following criteria: impact produced on community and administrative operations, alignment with the public service mission and values as well as the complexity of services granted to customers.

- Design Phase project won in Whitehorse, Yukon - Pacific GeoTech Systems North Inc., a leader in the development of e-Government business solutions, has been awarded the Design Phase of the Web-based Application Form and an Online Inquiry Module as part of the Student Financial Assistance System by the Advanced Education Branch of the Yukon Government.
The company will design and develop an electronic interface for helping the Student Financial Assistance Unit from the Advanced Education Branch to meet the needs of Yukon students using of Oracle’ s HTML/ DB. This two-phase project will result in a Web-based Application Form that enables students to apply online to get financial assistance and an Online Inquiry Module that allows them to check the status of their loan application.

- eMining Project - Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. is pleased to announce that the B.C. Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Petroleum Resources, Mining and Mineral Division, Sustainability Branch, has awarded us the development contract for their eMining System.
The project aims to reduce the level of manual effort required by applicants and Ministry staff to submit and revise applications for mineral, coal and placer exploration permits. Through this project, our company will develop within the Ministry’s e-Service initiative: a web-based data collection application based on a BCeID authentication that allows applicants to initiate an exploration permit application; full documentation of the web-based system; seamless integration with the Mining and Minerals division’s Web site; and undertake technical assessment of the existing Mine Management System.

A press release issued by the B.C. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources on 0ctober 27, 2005 states that BC is one of the first jurisdictions in the world that have combined innovative advanced mapping technologies,
e-commerce, and payment systems for online claim acquisition. "Jurisdictions around the world are looking to MTO for innovative ways to increase access to data for miners, ensure tenure security and maintain an efficient and competitive administrative system", says Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister, Richard Neufeld, in the same press release.
In less than nine months since its launch on January 12, 2005, the implementation work done by the B.C. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources has paid off. The MTO e-government solution developed by Pacific GeoTech Systems resulted in 160% increase in the number of mineral claims acquired electronically, comparable to the previous year, nearly $8.5 million in direct savings that might be used for finding and developing new mines, and highly reduced costs to the mining industry for ground staking. "Using Internet technology and state-of-the-art mapping software, MTO has brought claim acquisition and title maintenance into the digital world", said Minister Neufeld.

- A New Success for Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. - Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. is pleased to announce the successful migration of more than 1600 coverages from the regional coverage to the Regional Data Warehouse (ArcSDE) for the Information Management Branch, Data Management Services. As a result, various local data from all regions of British Columbia have been classified in accordance with 50 categories, such as: Forests, Grasslands and Wetlands; Fish, Wildlife and Plant Species or Parks, Recreation and Tourism etc., as well as metadata captured and symbolised according to Ministry standards.
The project started in May 2004 and it was conducted in two phases. Initially, it covered two regions of British Columbia: Prince George and Kamloops and then expanded to all BC regions: Nanaimo, Nelson, Smithers, Surrey, Victoria and Williams Lake.

Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. has successfully launched Mineral Titles Online (MTO), a cutting-edge GIS Internet-based e-Commerce system for acquiring title to mineral and placer claims in B.C. Since MTO went live on January 12, 2005, the government is able to process mineral/placer claims in a highly efficient and cost effective manner.
MTO allows free miners to acquire mineral rights by selecting a claim on a map on a computer screen rather than by staking a claim on the ground. This enables them to focus their resources on the ground exploration rather than on staking. The MTO system is operational 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. (PGTS) is please to announce the release of "Petroleum Titles Online" (PTO) system. The integrated system developed by PGTS facilitates petroleum tenure-related transactions through the Internet.
The project is a joint initiative developed by the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) and the BC Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management (MSRM).
PTO was developed to allow interested parties to view maps of petroleum and natural gas tenures in conjunction with other related base-mapping data and obtain reports of specific tenure information. PTO allows interested parties to select parcels of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights on an interactive map for inclusion in one of the BC Titles Division's monthly dispositions of petroleum and natural gas rights using an Internet map selection tool.

e-PASS is an Internet-based GIS application that enables the British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission to electronically receive, process and manage spatial components of land use applications related to petroleum development in BC.
The application requirements are based on accommodating electronic submissions online, streamlining the petroleum applications development and review process, and providing a common framework of standards, schemas, and infrastructure for data distribution online. - Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd., proudly announces wining a contract to produce a business analysis report and a data model/data entity relationship report for Ministry of Energy and Mines, Titles Branch.
In an effort to adopt web based systems for business transactions the Titles Branch has embarked on an initiative that will streamline the Mineral Tenure Administration and Mineral & Placer Tenure acquisition process by changing the method of title acquisition from the traditional 'staking' to an electronic form of selecting claims based on digital geographic information systems (GIS) mapping.
The current mineral data administration (MiDA) will be migrated to a new Oracle data base to facilitate development of the Internet-based system for issuance of the Free Miner Certificate (FMC) and Title acquisition. Part of the Map Selection Project (MS) referred to as Mineral Title Online (MTO) will be a web-enabled application driven by a map server. The FMC and MS application will include connections to the BC Connects architecture, authentication using the BceID and Citizen ID applications and payments schemas connected to the BC Connects and Banking Cash Management Branch (BCMB).

Pacific GeoTech wins new contract from Oil and Gas Commission Branch
The Oil and Gas Commission regulates crude oil, natural gas and pipeline activities in the province of British Columbia. The Commission awarded Pacific GeoTech a contract to develop an Internet-based GIS application that will enable the Commission to receive, process and manage land use applications electronically. The application will also streamline the petroleum development application submission and review process.
Develop data models and data submission standards for the spatial components of petroleum development applications;
Develop an Internet based application enabling clients to submit spatial information to the Commission; and
Develop a process allowing for the inclusion of client submitted spatial information into the Commission’s existing spatial database.
