Petroleum Titles Online (PTO) is an enterprise Web-based Information Technology electronic permitting system. The integrated system facilitates petroleum tenure-related transactions through the Internet and allows interested parties to view electronic maps of petroleum and natural gas tenures in conjunction with other related base-mapping GIS spatial data and obtain reports of specific tenure information. |
 |
The PTO application was designed and implemented in three phases.
Phase one has focused on developing the web browser environment. It consisted of:
- providing spatial and attribute information to clients, stakeholders, and the public in order for clients to select areas for posting and stakeholders identify information for making referral comments;
- displaying other spatial data that will be of interest to clients and stakeholder; and
- developing search and report functions that assist clients and stakeholders in their business needs.
|
 |
Phase two provided a module that links the sale reports to the spatial extent of the area that is being sold. Using PTO, clients are able online to click on a sale identification number and zoom to that sale parcel on a map displayed on the computer screen. The sale parcel are displayed with other spatial information such as cadastre, planimetry, etc.
Phase three implemented an online web based process to allow clients to request postings. Specifically it consisted of:
- providing secure login so OGT know a legitimate client is request a sale posting;
- allowing clients to define their area of sale interest within the context of the PNG and DLS grids;
- allowing clients to modify, amend, and cancel a posting that they have made; and
- providing email notification.

Mineral Titles Online (MTO) is an enterprise e-Commerce Web-based electronic permitting system. Based on Pacific GeoTech System’s truePERMIT technology framework solution, MTO enhances mineral/placer title administration by allowing free miners to select (electronically stake) mineral/placer claims using map selection over the Web, rather than staking a claim on the ground. |
 |
The process uses map selection grid and allows the applicant to view other mineral tenure information, planimetric data in various scales, mineral occurrence, Land Act tenures, including private land, satellite images, and other spatial and attribute data from the Ministry of Environment and Lands, Land Resource Data Warehouse (LRDW) and link with Integrated Land and Resource Registry (ILRR). |
 |
MTO allows online payment by applicants of all fees using MTO credit cards payment modules. They were designed based on BC Ministry of Finance/Provincial Treasury Internet Payments Program (IPP) to provide a common solution for BC ministries to communicate with the bank and manage credit card sales activities. In addition, MTO has the ability to deliver more services, more efficiently to the public on-line; real time authorization of credit card sales; and online reporting and management for credit card transactions.
